Free Concert Series at Landreth Park
JOPLIN – The free summer concert series at Landreth Park continues for its second Sunday of music and fun on July 11that 6 p.m. with Crowder Jazz Orchestra. Music in the park is highlighted as part of Joplin’s 15 week spotlight on arts. The purpose is to capture community member’s interest and involvement on the significance of art in the area. The event presents a fun evening with family and friends and provides the opportunity to support local musicians.

Crowder Jazz Orchestra is an 18-piece orchestra that primarily plays classic big band jazz style. The orchestra was formed in 2005 by community and professional musicians who have a love for jazz music. The band is led by Todd Hastings, trumpet professor at Pittsburg State University and includes members who have performed with leading names in the jazz community. A night spent with this 18 piece jazz orchestra guarantees entertainment and inspiration for people of all ages.

The remaining bands for the summer concert series at Landreth Park include Offset Onset on July 25th, Diversity Band on August 8th, and closing band Borderline on August 22nd.

Arts Building Community’s 15 Week Spotlight on Arts supplies over thirty arts events and performances to benefit the Arts in Education Fund and the Homeless Food Drive Fund. The funds will be divided equally between the two beneficiaries. To help build the community through Art, there will be a donation of at least one dollar for each event. Contributions can also be made online at ww.cfozarks.org. In the program field type, "ABC."
